🇫🇷 Plouvien is a commune in the Finistère department of Brittany in north-western France. The journalist and writer Jean Bothorel was born in Plouvien on 12 May 1940.
Breton language The municipality launched a linguistic plan concerning the Breton language through Ya d'ar brezhoneg on 24 May 2007.
In 2008, 7.54% of primary-school children attended bilingual schools.
Plouvien has a population of over 3,832 people. Plouvien also forms part of the wider Brest Arrondissement which has a population of over 314,844 people. It is also a part of the larger Finistère Département. Plouvien is situated near Brest.
