🇦🇷 José C. Paz is a city, the capital of José C. Paz Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban area and is located around 35 km north-west of the Capital federal. It was named after José C. Paz (2 October 1842 – 10 March 1912), an Argentine journalist and diplomat.

The locality is a central hub, with a large number of people who circulate through it every day due to the existence of the subterminal station of the San Martín train, the multiple bus terminal stops, the presence of municipal, banking and public administration offices, as well as the headquarters of the National University of José C Paz and multiple evangelical Christian churches.

History • 1869. Juan Buzzini and his sons founded a farm and livestock establishment. • 1870. In the lands of the old Party of General Sarmiento, a new town was emerging located in the north-west on the banks of the Arroyo Pinazo. • 1891. Juan Buzzini sold his lands, which were left in the hands of José Vicente Altube, a native of Oñate, Guipúzcoa. • 1912. In July, a great friend of José Vicente Altube, José Clemente Paz, died in Montecarlo (Monaco). He was the founder of the newspaper La Prensa. • 1913. On May 5, 1913, the Minister of Public Works, at the request of José Vicente Altube, gave the name José C. Peace to the railway station. On July 13, with an important popular presence, the official ceremony was held. • Years later, in the middle of the celebrations held in José Altube Square (today with the name of Manuel Belgrano), José Vicente Altube removed from there the plaque that bore his own name and placed one with the name of José C. Peace. • 1994. Through Provincial Law No. 11551, the Party of José C. was created. Peace with a territorial extension of 53 square km. • 2021. It was declared a "City of Learning" by UNESCO.
