🇸🇹 Trindade (Portuguese for the Trinity) is a town located on São Tomé Island, which is part of the island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe. It is the seat of Mé-Zóchi District. It lies 7 km south-west of the capital São Tomé. Nearby places include Diogo Simão to the north-east, Lemos to the east, Cruzeiro to the south and Piedade to the west. There is a secondary school in Trindade, opened in 2011, with a capacity of 720 students.

During the Batepá massacre, a brutally crushed rebellion in February 1953, hundreds of inhabitants of Trindade and nearby Batepá were killed.

Economy The main economic activity in the district is agriculture, and it forms a large part of the national agricultural production. Coffee and cocoa are the main products, these are also the main export products of the country. The district has 26.28% of the farmers of the country.

Trindade has a population of over 16,140 people. Trindade also forms the centre of the wider Mé-Zóchi District which has a population of over 50,800 people. Trindade is situated near São Tomé.
