🇩🇪 Penzberg is a town in the Weilheim-Schongau district, in Bavaria, Germany. It is located about 50 km south of Munich. A historic coal mining town, Penzberg today is known for its pharmaceutical industries. The town is served by Penzberg station on the Kochelsee Railway. The Kochelseebahn branches in Tutzing from the Munich Hauptbahnhof–Garmisch-Partenkirchen main line and runs from there via Penzberg to Kochel am See.

Penzberg has a population of over 16,262 people. Penzberg also forms part of the wider Weilheim-Schongau district which has a population of over 136,134 people. Penzberg is situated 19 km south-east of Weilheim.
