🇺🇸 Manvel is a city in Grand Forks County, North Dakota, United States. It sits on the banks of the Turtle River. It is part of the "Grand Forks, ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area" or "Greater Grand Forks".

History The first settlement at Manvel was made in the 1860s on a stagecoach route. Manvel was laid out in 1881 when the railroad was extended to that point. The city was named for a Great Northern Railway passenger agent named Allen A. Manvel. A post office has been in operation at Manvel since 1882.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.29 square miles (0.75 km²), all land.

Demographics As of the census of 2010, there were 360 people, 137 households, and 102 families living in the city. The population density was 1,241.4 inhabitants per square mile (479.3/km²). There were 149 housing units at an average density of 513.8 per square mile (198.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.2% White, 0.3% Native American, and 0.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.8% of the population.

There were 137 households, of which 39.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.2% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 25.5% were non-families. 22.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.12.

The median age in the city was 37.1 years. 28.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 27.8% were from 25 to 44; 28.1% were from 45 to 64; and 9.2% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.4% male and 48.6% female.
