🇯🇵 Minamikyūshū (南九州市) is a city located on the southern tip of Satsuma Peninsula, in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The modern city of Minamikyūshū was established in 2007, from the merger of the town of Ei (from Ibusuki District), and the towns of Chiran and Kawanabe (both from Kawanabe District).
Minamikyūshū has a population of over 39,738 people. Minamikyūshū also forms part of the wider Kagoshima Prefecture which has a population of over 1,599,779 people. Minamikyūshū is situated 31 km south of Kagoshima.
