๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Cambridge is a town in Somerset County, Maine, United States. Cambridge was originally part of Ripley, Maine. It is situated Nort-west of Bangor.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 19.38 square miles (50.19ย kmยฒ), of which 19.32 square miles (50.04ย kmยฒ) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16ย kmยฒ) is water.

Demographics As of the census of 2010, there were 462 people, 197 households, and 136 families living in the town. The population density was 23.9 inhabitants per square mile (9.2/kmยฒ). There were 252 housing units at an average density of 13.0 per square mile (5.0/kmยฒ). The racial makeup of the town was 97.4% White, 0.4% Native American, 0.6% Asian, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.5% of the population.

There were 197 households, of which 23.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 31.0% were non-families. 21.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.70.

The median age in the town was 48.3 years. 17.5% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.4% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.6% were from 25 to 44; 37.8% were from 45 to 64; and 17.5% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 49.6% male and 50.4% female.

History Cambridge was originally part of Ripley, Maine. It was so named by a young girl studying in England. "Bunker" was the original family. The town also made news in late 2020 when a producer of a Barstool Sports podcast admitted to mercy-killing a local cat, Tig, and burying it in a nearby hunting camp after traversing a small creek while carrying Tig under one arm and somehow also carrying a shotgun.
