🇨🇳 Suining (遂宁; 遂寧) is a prefecture-level city of eastern Sichuan province in Southwest China. Suining has at least one natural gas plant.

Geography Suining is located in the centre of the Sichuan Basin and on the central reaches of the Fu River, bordering Chongqing, Guang'an and Nanchong to the east, Neijiang and Ziyang to the south, the provincial capital of Chengdu to the west, and Deyang and Mianyang to the north. Its prefecture, or administrative, area ranges in latitude from 30° 10' 50" to 31° 10' 50" N, or 108.9 km (67.7 mi) and in longitude from 105° 03' 26" to 106° 59' 49" E, or 90.3 km (56.1 mi). While much of the prefecture is mountainous, the urban area itself, which occupies 40 square km (15 sq mi), is located on flat land.

Suining is a booming city with a wide range of roles, not just limit to the Excellent Tourism City of China, but also include the Finance and Ecological City of China, the National Landscape City, the National Hygiene City, and the Global Green City.

Places of interest According to local legend, Suining is the Hometown of Guanyin and her sisters. A folk song declares that one resides at Lingquan Temple, another at Guangde Temple, while only the third sister is afar, in the Putuo Mountains of Southern China.

There exists Lingquan Temple, Guangde Temple, and the Dead Sea, which are regarded as the 4A scenic zone. And there is also a Celadon Museum of Sichuan, which is referred to as a 3A scenic zone.

The percentage of land-covered forests of Suining is approximately 34%, it's the first Provincial Environmental Protection City in Sichuan. The 30,000-capacity Suining Sports Centre Stadium is located in the city. The stadium opened in 2014 and it is used mostly for football matches.

Transport: Rail Suining is the junction for the Dazhou–Chengdu and Suining–Chongqing Railways, which collective form the westernmost section of the Shanghai–Wuhan–Chengdu High-Speed Railway.

Suining has a population of over 658,798 people. Suining also forms the centre of the wider Suining Prefecture which has a population of over 3,252,551 people.
