🇨🇳 Zhoukou (Chinese: 周口) is a prefecture-level city in eastern Henan province, China. It borders Zhumadian to the south-west, Xuchang and Luohe to the west, Kaifeng to the north-west, Shangqiu to the north-east, and the province of Anhui on all other sides. The built-up area is made up of Chuanhui district and the northern part of Shangshui county.
**Economy **Zhoukou is a major agricultural producer in the province of Henan. Its economy is mainly based on the trade of agricultural products, such as grain, cotton, oil, meat and tobacco. In particular, Zhoukou is famous for the skin of the Huai Goat, a local breed of goat.
Zhoukou was ranked #1180 by the Nomad List which evaluates and ranks remote work hubs by cost, internet, fun and safety. Zhoukou has a population of over 535,738 people. Zhoukou also forms the centre of the wider Zhoukou metropolitan area which has a population of over 11,260,000 people.
