Vileyka, Minsk Region, Belarus


🇧🇾 Vileyka (Viliejka, Віле́йка) is a city in Belarus and the administrative centre of the Vileyka District of Minsk Region. It is located on the River Viliya, 100 km north-west of Minsk. The first historical record dates from 16 November 1460.

The 43rd Russian Navy's long-haul communications centre is located near Vileyka. It provides VLF communication between Russian Navy's headquarters and atomic submarines in the Atlantic, Indian and parts of the Pacific Ocean.

Vileyka has a population of over 26,736 people. Vileyka also forms the centre of the wider Vileyka District which has a population of over 55,000 people.
