🇯🇵 Taiji (太地町, Taiji-chō) is a town located in Higashimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. The total area of the town is 255.23 square km (98.54 sq mi). Taiji is the smallest municipality by area in Wakayama Prefecture.

Taiji has a population of over 2,960 people. Taiji also forms part of the wider Higashimuro District which has a population of over 43,306 people. It is also a part of the larger Wakayama Prefecture.
