🇨🇷 Santa Teresa is a small town in Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica. It is located about 150 km (93 mi) west of the capital city of San José. Like other coastal villages on the Nicoya Peninsula, Santa Teresa started as a remote fishing village, relying on agriculture, cattle ranching and small-scale fishing. Today, tourism is the main source of income of most families as it now boasts some yoga retreats, surf clubs and luxury accommodation for visitors from the USA and further afield.
Santa Teresa was ranked #828 by the Nomad List which evaluates and ranks remote work hubs by cost, internet, fun and safety. Santa Teresa has a population of over 3,000 people.
