Ouro Branco, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil


🇧🇷 Ouro Branco is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Minas Gerais. The city belongs to the Mesoregion Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte and to the Microregion of Conselheiro Lafaiete. The name "Ouro Branco" means "White Gold", as opposed to "Black Gold" - Ouro Preto. The city was an important base on the transportation route from the mines of Minas Gerais to the coast.

Ouro Branco has a population of over 39,867 people. Ouro Branco also forms part of the wider Conselheiro Lafaiete district which has a population of over 126,420 people. It is also a part of the larger Belo Horizonte metropolitan region. Ouro Branco is situated near Conselheiro Lafaiete.
