🇫🇷 Montamisé is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France.

French Revolution The municipality of Montamisé was created in 1790 in the department of Vienne, the district of Poitiers and the canton of Dissay. In 1801 she passed through the borough of Civray to return to that of Poitiers before 1806. In 1801 written Montamiser it was part of the canton of Saint-Georges which became in 1961 Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux then in 1973 the canton of Poitiers-2 and following a new division in 1982 of the canton of Poitiers-734.

Montamisé welcomes the advances of the French Revolution. She thus plants her tree of freedom, a symbol of the Revolution. It becomes the rallying place for all the festivals and major revolutionary events, such as the burning of feudal titles.

Contemporary era With the February 1848 revolution and the return of the Republic, a tree of freedom (a cedar from Lebanon) was planted.

On August 15, 1944, the Château de la Roche de Bran, which served as a refuge for the guerrillas of the Anatole group, was burned by the sailors of the Kriegsmarine in the garrison of the quarrys of Migné-Auxances. Seven resistance fighters die under torture.

Agriculture According to the Regional Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Forestry of Poitou-Charentes, there are only 14 farms in 2010 compared to 17 in 2000.

Agricultural areas used paradoxically increased by 24% and increased from 1,262 hectares in 2000 to 1,567 hectares in 201050. These figures indicate a concentration of land on a smaller number of farms. This trend is in line with the evolution observed throughout the department of Vienna since from 2000 to 2007, each farm gained an average of 20 hectares.

53% of agricultural areas are intended for the cultivation of cereals (mainly soft wheat but also barley and corn), 28% for oilseed (3/4 for rapeseed and 1/4 for sunflower), 3% for fodder and 8% remain in herbs.

Poultry farming has disappeared during this decade (130 heads spread over five farms).

Trade A market (local producers' market) takes place once a week, on Friday afternoon, on the Place des Tamisiers.
