🇧🇪 Koekelberg; is one of the nineteen municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region in Belgium. It is bordered by Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Ganshoren, Jette and Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. In common with all the Brussels municipalities, it is legally bilingual. The municipality—the smallest in the Brussels region by population—is dominated by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (or Koekelberg Basilica), one of the largest Roman Catholic churches in the world.
Koekelberg has a population of over 18,157 people. Koekelberg also forms part of the wider Brussels metropolitan area which has a population of over 2,548,941 people. Koekelberg is situated 5 km north-west of Brussels.
