🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Hay-on-Wye (Y Gelli Gandryll), often abbreviated in the community to just "Hay", is a market town and community in Powys, Wales; it was historically in the county of Brecknockshire. With over twenty bookshops, it is often described as "the town of books"; it is both the National Book Town of Wales and the site of the annual Hay Festival.

The town's size has not changed much since 1900. The built-up area includes Cusop across the border in England.

Hay-on-Wye has a population of over 2,000 people. Hay-on-Wye also forms part of the wider Powys District which has a population of over 132,435 people. Hay-on-Wye is situated near Llandrindod Wells.
