๐บ๐ธ Hastings is a town in Oswego County, New York, United States. The population was 9,450 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Hastings Curtiss, a prominent citizen and member of the State Assembly in 1824.
The Town of Hastings is on the southern border of the county. U.S. Route 11 and Interstate 81 pass through the town. The southern town line is the Oneida River and the border of Onondaga County. The southern tip of the town is at the western end of Oneida Lake, where it becomes the Oneida River.
Economy Oswego County's economy is most prominent as industry; in 2012, manufactured shipments made up $2.1 billion of the local economy. Retail made up the next most prominent sector, totaling $1.2 billion or more than $10,000 per resident. Wholesale merchants also made $368 million sales the same year. Services made up the final total, equal to over $500 million in food service, healthcare, accommodation, and social services.
