Addis Alem, Oromia Region, Ethiopia

🇪🇹 Addis Alem is a town in central Ethiopia. Located in the Mirab Shewa Zone of the Oromia Region, west of Addis Ababa. It is the largest settlement in Ejerie woreda. Addis Alem is known for the Basilica Church of St Maryam. Its adjacent museum burned to the ground in 1997; however a new one has since opened.

Addis Alem has a population of over 13,420 people. Addis Alem also forms part of the wider West Shewa Region which has a population of over 2,058,676 people. Addis Alem is situated 50 km west of Addis Ababa.
